3. Frederick (Fritz) C. Haszler Sr. son of [Franz Hassler and Elizabeth Kessler] was born on 2 Dec 1860 in LaSalle, LaSalle Co., Illinois. He and his family lived at a time at 2812 west 5th street, La Salle.  He died on 23 Oct 1941 in in his home in Peru, LaSalle Co., Illinois.  He had been dead over a week and apparently left a gas jet open on the stove (SEE OBITUARY).  The Rev. J.M. Johnson, pastor of the County Line Luthern Chruch, officiated.  He was buried on 24 Oct 1941 in the Granville Cemetery, Putnam Co., Illinois.  Fred changed his last name from Hassler to Haszler in about 1909.  There were two Fred Hasslers on the rural Peru mail route.  The other Fred Hassler was in bussiness and Frederick got tired of having the mail mixed up, so he changed the spelling.

Frederick married Katherine (Kate) Klag, daughter of [Jeremiah Klag and Katherarine Elizabeth Loewenberg], on 21 Feb 1884 in LaSalle, LaSalle Co., Illinois. The wedding was held at the home of her Parents 4 1/2 miles south east of Mt. Palatine, Illinois.  Over 100 people attended the wedding.  The dancing and singing lasted until morning (SEE MARRIAGE ANNOUNCEMENT).  Katherine was born on 15 Nov 1860 in Hope Township, LaSalle Co., Illinois. She died on 21 Jan 1926 in St. Margarets Hospital, Spring Valley, Bureau Co., Illinois.  The funeral was conducted from the home of her son, George, and in the County Line Lutheran Church.  The Rev. M.J. Hafermann officiated.  She was buried with her wedding dress folded over her legs in Granville Cemetery, Putnam Co., Illinois.  She died of a rare disease that caused her head to swell.  Because of this, her family had her head covered by a silk pillowcase and the coffin was not opened at the funeral.

				George married Frieda Derdrick on 5 Jan 1910. Frieda was born on 15 Sep 1889. She died in May 1967 in Oglesby, LaSalle Co., Illinois.
+	11	M	iii	Frederick Conrad Gustof Haszler Jr. was born on 27 Apr 1889 and died on 27 Apr 1981.

				Edwin married Tena Harseim on 23 Feb 1921 in Peoria, Illinois. Tina was born 8 May 1897 and died on 27 Dec 1948.
	13	F	v	Ella Ann Haszler was born on 25 Nov 1893 in Tonica, LaSalle Co., Illinois. She died in Aug 1987 in Tucson, Arizona.

Elizabeth married Mr Wihelm (William) Zimmerman on 24 Feb 1881. Wihelm was born on 8 Mar 1853 in Cologne, Germany. He died on 15 Jan 1946 in Peru, LaSalle Co., Illinois and was buried in Granville Cemetery, Putnam Co., Illinois.
