He was employed on the Armstrong farm on State Rd. west of Montgomery Square, cultivating corn. He was sitting on the cultivator with his gun to shoot black birds, when the gun discharged into his arm. An injury from which he died the next day. A funeral was held at his parents home in Unionville and was largely attended. His life insurance of $1,000 was paid to his mother which she invested in a lot and house.
