From the Annals Of The Forty: Page 24
• "Joseph Trembley came into Grimsby Twp before the War of 1812. He served with the 4th Lincoln Regiment during the war and settled on Lot 2, Conc. VII near Smithville."
• "Joseph served in the Grimsby township council in 1836 and his name is on the list of 'Overseer of Roads' according to their respective divisions as follows:
-"No. 13 - Joseph Trembley commencing at the North East corner of his farm at the line between Clinton and the Gore of Grimsby, thence to the South West corner of William Hare's farm along the Concession line."
"There has been no recorded history of his family but the following names were some of his children, Mathias, Ann, Joseph jr., Hiram, Abraham may have been a son.
OBSERVATIONS:
1) William Hare is probably the William Hare who signs the land petition for John Anderson, in 1818.
CONCLUSIONS:
1) Follow up locating Anderson Families living close to Joseph Trembley's farm
- at the line between Clinton and the Gore of Grimsby, thence to the South West corner of William Hare's farm along the Concession line." This is Lincoln Co.
2) Should also locate William Hares farm.
- " A part of the land granted to William Hare was Lot 14 con. 1 Clinton Twp. As William was one of the Assessors of the Municipal Council of this Twp. in 1795, he probably lived in Clinton until 1806, when he sold the land mentioned & moved to Flamborough Twp. The History of Dundas, written for their Centennial 1847-1947 states that William Hare bought part of the town of Dundas in 1808 and gives the names of his sons as Samuel, James and John."
3) Note that Joseph's son Mathias had a daughter Rebecca Ann, who married our Great Grandfather Henry Anderson on Sept. 21, 1865.
4) Hiram the son of Joseph "lived on part of lot 3, Concession VIII, Grimsby Twp" according to Annals of the Forty.
5) Hiram Trembly, 19, residence Windham born Canada s/o Mathias & Sara Trembly married Martha Rease?, 18, residence Windham born Canada, d/o Louis & Lyddia Rease or Rean ?, on 18 Oct. 1868, by W. Osborne, witness George Trembly, Eli Cunningham. Ref. Norfolk County Marriage Records, Vol. 2.
6) Note that the Trembley's were German and therefore likely from Pennsylvania. John Anderson was also from Pennsylvania. It may be that the families knew each other prior to coming to Canada. Who were the other families from Penn.?
7) A Charles Anderson is listed in the Annals of the Forty, on Conc. 2 lot 8, in Grimsby Twp.
8) A Hugh Anderson is mentioned in the Annals of the Forty, p 11,
"The Indian trail up the hill was east of the present mountain road, beginning at about the South end of Robinson Street and rising in a westerly direction. Like the others it became a road and it was changed to it's present location about 1844."
"Note: As the new road was opened across Hugh Anderson's land, the old road was given to him"

Jim-
None of the Mudge's in Delhi were Nellie. I found out that Egypt was a small
centre east of Delhi. Also I note that Catherine Anderson is not in the Miller
cem. Did she remarry?
I've been giving a website a lot of thought. Any info on getting started, after
I decide what I want to accomplish.
