The ANDERSON Loyalist links are from three Loyalists identified
to date, Loyalist John "Little John" SMITH, Loyalist Nathaniel PETTIT and
Loyalist Peter GORDON. The actual family tie with all of these loyalists
is through the marriage of Mary SMITH to Francis GENEREUX, and their daughter

51 Quotes: Smith Family Grimsby & Ancaster Townships - Ref. The
Annals Of The Forty:
"John Smith who settled first in Grimsby twp. and later in Ancaster,
is believed to be a connection of Smith Family A. His ancestors were of
English origin and family tradition gives John's place of birth as Ludgate
Hill, London. He was born 13 Nov., 1747, married Anna Roy, 10 Mar. 1772
and shortly afterward they emigrated to New Jersey. In 1787 John &
Anna, with their small family, joined other Loyalists in their treck to
Canada. John was granted land in Grimsby twp. -Lot 16, Conc. 1 & 2,.
To distinguish him from another John Smith, who lived on the next farm
west he was termed "Little John". During the years that John lived At The
Forty he served on the Grimsby twp. Council in 1792 and we find his name
on several petitions and documents from 1789 to 1798. In that year John
sold his farm to Johnathan Woolverton. One account of the transaction states
that John received for 200 acres 40 lb in N.Y. Currency and threw in 5
natural apple trees to bind the bargain. Another account claims that a
spotted cow was thrown in for good measure. John Smith, with his older
sons & daughters, settled in Ancaster on Lot 46, Conc. 4, where he
lived until his death 4 Aug. 1846. at the age of 98 years. Anna, his wife,
was born 13 Apr., 1752, died 30 Sept. 1830."

Transcription of John Anderson's
will I have supplied a transcription of John Anderson's will, since
the actual document is difficult to read due to very dark sections on the
copy provided by Archives of Ontario.
2) Link to Abraham's father is through Abrahams B&S Reg. No. 195,
Date of Inst. Oct. 15, 1842, Date of Reg. Jan. 1, 1844, of Lot 24 Con.
2 W. Flamboro, which Abraham inherits from his father John. Anderson. Abraham's
wife Rhoda has to sign off her "dowery rights" on ths Bargain & Sale
document, thereby proving that the Abraham Anderson in John's Will is the
same Abraham & wife Rhoda in the B&S of the same property.
