Miller Grave site pix

Thanks to Cousin Marilyn Cerny, I have new pix of Miller grave sites.  The new pix are from the Merrill Cemetery in Kennebunkport, Maine.  Local historians say it's a family cemetery and that the Millers must have been good friends with them to be allowed to share the space.

Note:  These pix are resized to fit the page and make for a faster loading time.  If you want the full size pic, just ask for it.

This first pic is the marker of Captain Jeremiah G. Miller, one of my sixteen 3rd-Great-Grandparents.

SACRED

In memory of Captain

Jeremiah G. Miller

Aged 38 years

By faith in Christ triumphing

over death his ______ spirit took

its flight to the ______ of bliss, Dec 9, 1836

His sleeping dust by Angels guarded

here must rest till the resurrection morn.

This pic is the marker of Jeremiah Miller,  grandfather of Jeremiah G. and one of my 64  5th-Great-Grandparents.  Notice the skull engraved at the top of the marker...

Here lies the body

of Mr Jeremiah Miller

who departed this life

March 24 1796

in the 55th year of his life.

Man liveth down and pileth not

till the heavens be no more.

This pic is likely the headstone of Mary Walker Miller, wife of the above Jeremiah and Grandmother of Jeremiah G. Miller.  There's another Mary in the cemetery, Mary G., likely being Mary Green, first wife of the Captain.  Both died in December 1825.  Mary Walker Miller was age 80 and Mary Green just 26.

According to the Kennebunkport Historical Society, other Millers in the Merrill Cemetery are:
