This photo is dated circa 1910 and was taken at the Point in Pittsburgh and shows the Steamer TOM DODSWORTH next to numerous coal filled barges.  The pictures zoom into a pump boat and behind it can be read a sign on one of the barges with its name, number 62.  This barge is listed twice as being at the Elizabeth Marine Ways, March 16,1909 and November 20,1910.

Model Barges were built for various jobs including being enclosed to protect cargo, these barges shown loaded with coal were not build as strong as designated coal barges but did perform that function as needed.
