This boat, built in 1881 at Belle Vernon PA, exploded her boilers in 1898 at Elizabeth, PA.  JW noted in his journal during September 1902 that a new boat named CARBON was being built "for the RESCUE."  The CARBON received the machinery from the RESCUE.
