JW works on the rudder of the Steamer VALIANT on February 12, 1899.  From August 29, 1903 to January 20, 1904 he is on her several times doing various repairs.  January 6, 1913 she receives new boilers.  There are other mentions of the Steamer VALIANT which can be found using the search engine on the Home Page.  The final entry mentioning the VALIANT is when she is rebuilt and named TRANSPORTER.
