| OBITUARY: Feb 11, 1980 from the Newberry News: Lenora Marlett died February 11 at Helen Newberry Joy Annex. She was 96 years old. Mrs. Marlett was born November 29, 1883 in Gladwin, Michigan and had been a resident of Newberry since 1922. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the oldest Gold Star mother in Luce County, a member of the Rebekah Lodge 437, and was the oldest member of the Newberry United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Clifford Marlett of Flint, Michigan, three daughters, Stella Peterson of Newberry, Annabelle Conlin of Newberry, and Nelda St. John of Morrill, Nebraska; 22 grandchildren; 75 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. from Beaulieu Funeral Home, Rev. David Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home Cemetery in the spring. Those who wish may contribute to a memorial fund for the United Methodist Church or Helen Newberry Joy Annex. |
