| Murnie and Mae lived in Raco where their first child was born. They moved to Newberry about two years later. In Newberry, they built a home at 511 East Ave. B, where they lived 45 years. Murnie worked at Barrett's saw mil for 43 of these years. Mae, while raising 9 of her 12 children, suffered a tumor on her spine which caused her to be paralized and confined to a wheelchair for 21 years before her death in March 1961. Murney died 9 Nov 1970 at the age of 83. |
