Misc. Notes
It would appear that Isaac came to Canada from Vermont in 1792. This date is given in the Book PIONEER LIFE ON THE BAY OF QUINTE. It also agrees with the family record. His fifth child was born in Vermont in 1791 and his sixth child was born in Sophiasburg Twp in 1793. Isaac is listed as a United Empire Loyalist on the Loyalist List and here it states that he was employed in the Navy Department in New York during the American Revolution. New York was under British occupation during the whole of the American Revolution. On 28 August 1810, Isaac was given a Crown grant of Lot 26, 1st Concession of Sophiasburg, District of Prince Edward, comprising some 338 acres. In his will he left the rear third, fronting on Water Street in the community of Fish Lake, to his son John. The remainder was to be divided evenly between his sons Isaac and Peter. He left to his son Daniel three hundred acres in Murray Township being Lot 16 and the east half of Lot 17 in the Fifth concession. He also left provision for a comfortable support for his "ajed" mother. There appears to be no further record of her.
