On William's Birth record his name is spelt Wyllyam Levett, and
on his death record it is spelt William Levett. He was the son
of Richard Levatt and an unknown woman, he had three sisters Susan, Jhone and
Elen. Susan and Jhone were christened in 1574 and Elen was christened in

William was probably born at Berwick, Sussex, about 1580, but as the Parish registers do not survive, therefore cannot be proved.
His trade of a mason is mentioned in the Parish Register against his burial entry, as well

features in later years, when divided into northern and southern halves in
the Berwick Manor Court Records.
