The 1850 census of Pontotoc County Mississippi list William Wilson as head of household with Telitha E. age six and Nancy age three months along with Hugh Wilson, Nancy Wilson age twenty three (probably the wife of Hugh), Mary age thirty, and Nancy Wilson age seventy. The will of Nancy Wilson dated 14 September, 1857 proves her to be the mother of William S. and Hugh C. Wilson. There is some question as to Nancy's age. If she was 70 in 1850 that would have made her 44 at the birth of William and 46 at the birth of Hugh. A marriage license was issued to William S. Wilson in Marshall County Tennessee, as recorded in roll 22 Volume 1 Marshall County Marriages on 4 January, 1844. This is possibly the daughter of James Williams as listed on page 29 of Sesquicentennial History of Marshall Co. Tennessee. I believe that this is the first marriage of My William S.
