Our South Carolina
dedicated to our ancestor
Samuel Joseph Curry
May 13, 1849 - May 9, 1931
Welcome to our Curry Family page! We dedicate our page and all the work that will go into its contents to our Grandpa Joe Curry. Born the year gold was discovered in California, Joe spent his formative years in the staunchly Confederate rural Chester County and was 16 years old at the end of the War Between the States. A Carolina farmer by trade, Joe was a loving family man and raised 10 children, seven girls and three boys. Active in his church and in all facets of his community, Joe passed away four days short of his 82nd birthday in 1931. His legacy lives on as nearly 400 souls can look at the picture on this page and call him Grandpa.
The year 2003 will be the 40th year in which the descendants of Samuel Joseph Curry and his three wives, Melinda Carrie Boyd, Mary Agnes Wallace, and Hannah Tennant will gather in Chester County South Carolina for the annual Reunion celebrating the lives of our ancestors. The Chester and Fairfield County, SC Curry family of the late 1700's and early 1800's was the "seed" family for many of the Curry families that went out West in the years prior to and just after the War Between the States. We are constantly making contact with lost "Curry Cousins"! If you can trace your roots to South Carolina, or think you can, contact us! We are working on our Family history daily, and as most genealogists, need all the help we can get!
Please enjoy our pages and come back to see us once in a while. New content will be added as we find it!
Please feel free to sign our guestbook.
Your Curry Cousins,
Michael McGarity and Randy P. Sears
