The Spira Family

                Jacob Spira, was born Abt. 1530 om Of, Germany and died
November 30, 1603 in Sponheim, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany. He married
Beatrice in 1568, in Sponheim, Germany. Their Children  are:

                1. Christian Spira, born abt. 1570.
                2. Stoffel, ( Christopherus ) Spira, born abt. 1572.
                3. Adam Spira, born abt. 1574
                4. Kunz Spira, born abt. 1576
                5. Johann Spira, born abt. 1578
                6. Wendel Spira, born abt. 1580
 
                All of these Children were born in Of, Sponheim, Germany.
It is also noted, there were three or four more Children, but, dates,
names are unknown at this time. More research must be worked on
this family.

                Second son, Stoffel ( Christopherus) Spira linage

                1. Adam Spira
                2. Ottilia Spira
                3. Jacob Spria, born 1646, married Gertrude and had a
daughter named Anna Maria Spira.
                4. Anna Maria Spira, married a Cornelius Roth.
                5. Johannes Spira, married a Magadalena and raised these
 four children.

                    1. Elizabeth Spira, married Casper  Burckhardt.
                    2. Maria  Ottilia Spira, married Philip Christian Spengler.
                    3. Maria Spira, married Nicolas Ackermann.
                    4. Hans Simon Spira, born 1643 and died 1713. Hans, married
Anna Katharine amd together they raised these five Children.

                        1. Maria Barbara Spira
                        2. Mathaus Spira, 1675
                        3. Elizabeth Spira, 1681
                        4. Engel Spira, 1684
                        5. Philip Jacob Spira, 1685-1747, Philip, married
Anna Katherine, and they raised these three Children. Make note, that
that Anna Katherine, died in 1719, probably during child birth.

                            1. Maria Barbara Spira, 1715
                            2. Johann Spira, 1716
                            3. Anna elizabeth Spira, 1719-1730
Philip, remarried   to an Anna  Eva Zellman and they raised two children.

                                1. Johann Casper Spira,1727
                                2. Johann Wilhelm Spira, 1729-1789 he married \
Anna Mary ( Beier/Beyer) Boyer and they raised these four Children:

                                    1. Polly Spira, married Henry Slote
                                    2. Sarah Spira
                                    3. Elizabeth Spira 1757
                                    4. George William Spira 1760-1838,
George William, was born, in Germantown, area, north of Philadelphia.
He married Juliana Goetz, 1780, in Reading, Berks County, Pa. They
then settled in the Pottstown area of Montgomery County, and raised
seven Children.  George William, ( quite often known only as William)
became a school teacher, in the early eighteen hundreds, he moved
on to Lancaster County, Pa. They raised seven children. Both William
and Juliana are buried at the Lutheran Cemetery at Bergstrasse,
Ephrata Twp., Lancaster County, Pa.

                                        1.Mary Catherine, 1781-1860,
later married Henry Romig, of the Worman Area of Berks County, they
raised one child, named Henry, born in 1798. The year of 1808, shows
Henry paying taxes to Earl Twp., Lancaster County. It is my opinion,
they followed Mary Catherine's parents to Lancaster County. Both,
Henry and Catherine are buried at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery,
Brickerville, Lancaster County, Pa. Their son, Henry is buried at
Salam Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lincoln, Lancaster County.
