Buck died on 10 October 1996 at his home after an extended illness, Alexandria, Madison County, Indiana, at age 72.4 He was buried on 14 October 1996 at Park View Cemetery, Alexandria, Madison County, Indiana.4

    Berkley M. Buck

    ALEXANDRIA — Berkley M. Buck, 72, 312 E. 900N, died Oct. 10, 1996, at his residence after an extended illness.

    He was born May 8, 1924, in Liberty, Ky., the son of Cale and Sarah (Cole) Buck, and lived in the Alexandria area since 1946.

    He retired from National Gypsum Corp., formerly of Alexandria, in 1972 after 22 years of employment. Later he worked for Little Lake Industries of Alexandria. He was also a well-known farmer in the Alexandria area.

    He was a member of Freedom Assembly of God in Alexandria and Madison County Farm Bureau. He served as a private first class in the United States Army during World War ll.

    Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Flora (Wright) Buck; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Debra Buck of Alexandria; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Roy Middleton of Granger; brother, Dewie Wheeler of Liberty, Ky., five grandchildren, Gary (wife, Mindy) Buck and Tara Buck, all of Indianapolis, Vincent Buck of Alexandria, and Matthew Middleton and Sarah Middleton, both of Granger; a great-grandson, Nathan Buck; and several nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Oakley Buck, Verle Buck and Roscoe Buck; and a half sister, Alma Mosier.

    Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Owens Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Moore, pastor of Freedom Assembly of God, officiating. Burial will be in Park View Cemetery.

    Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday
    at the funeral home.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the hospice program at St. John’s Health System through the funeral home.
