    John Thomas Buck, 88, of Blacksburg, died Friday, October 20, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Hancock County, Ken. on January 15, 1918 to the late Claude H. and Maggie Glover Buck. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Wilkey Buck. Mr. Buck is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James C. and Judy Buck, Fredricksburg, Va., and John W. and Barbara Buck of Bedford; six grandchildren, J. Timothy Buck, W. David Buck, M. Stephen Buck, Crista B. Moody, Kristy B. DeWitt and Jamie C. Buck; four great-grandchildren, Alina Moody, Aaron Moody, Josiah Buck and Grace Hannah Buck; and his sister, Elma Mae Crask. Funeral services will be Monday, October 23, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Harold Wm. Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 16 East Main Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073, or to the Alleghany Baptist Church, 416 Alleghany Street, Blacksburg, VA 24060. The family will receive friends Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
