     George E. C. Buck was born on 4 August 1859.1 He was the son of Jonathan Elijah Carson Buck and Agnes Thompson. George E. C. Buck appeared in the census of 2 June 1860 in the household of Jonathan Elijah Carson Buck and Agnes Thompson at 6th District, Livingston, Overton County, Tennessee.2 George E. C. Buck died on 7 May 1863 at age 3.3 He was buried at Pulliam Cemetery, NorthPalmyra Township, Macoupin County, Illinois.4

    Pulliam Cemetery is located 2 1/2 miles north of Modesto, Illinois on what was the Fred N. Herr farm. The legal description of this cemetery is "SE 1/4 of NE 1/4 of Section 4 T.12 R.8". It was started early in the 1840's. In 1863, Drury A. Pulliam, George Keplinger, and his wife Sarah J. sold and deeded ground for the cemetery. This reading is a compilation of readings done by Mr. and Mrs. Merril A. Stewart during July 1981 and several readings completed by Mrs. Myra N. Martin during the 1970s. Additional burials have been gleaned from death certificates and obituaries. Some do not have stones and some of the information which has been added to the listing does not appear on the stone.
