     Gertrude Elizabeth Buck was born on 11 November 1929 at Robertsdale, Baldwin County, Alabama.1 She was the daughter of Benjamin Estel Buck and Ethel Mae McCormick. Gertrude Elizabeth Buck married Clarence Proctor Adams on 10 March 1945 at Bay Minette, Baldwin County, Alabama.1 As of 10 March 1945,her married name was Adams. Gertrude Elizabeth Buck died on 28 June 2019 at her son Donald's home in, Virginia Beach, Virginia, at age 89.2,3,4 She was buried on 5 July 2019 at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida.3,2

    Just a note to let you know that Gertrude Elizabeth Buck Adams, passed away during the early in the night of June 28, 2019.

    The funeral is in the same chapel that her husband's was. Faith Chapel South 100 Beverly Parkway Pensacola, FL. She will be buried in the same cemetery at the Pensacola Naval Ari Station National Cemetery on Friday July 5, 2019.

    Gertrude E. Adams (89) of Elberta, Alabama, passed away peacefully in in her sleep June 28, 2019. She was born in Robertsdale, AL on November 11, 1929 to Benjamin and Ethel McCormick Buck.

    She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence P. Adams for 70 years (March 10th, 1945 until his death in January, 2016.)

    She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Mills, and her son Daniel P. Adams.

    She was the mother of 4, the grandmother of 8, and great-grandmother of many more.

    Left to mourn her passing are two younger brothers, Mel Buck and Sylvester Buck, her daughter, Donna Pace, and two sons, Don Adams and David Adams and all their families.

    Gertrude was a Navy wife for 26 years until 1971. Afterward, she became a Ward Clerk at West Florida Hospital for approximately 10 years. After She and Clarence retired, they began traveling throughout 49 States and Canada, many of them more than once. Since 1954, they lived on 20 acres in Elberta off and on raising farm animals and growing small crops.

    Funeral Services will be held at 10:30AM Friday, July 5, 2019 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Burial services will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery where she will be buried with her husband.

    Very tough year indeed.
    Just back from the funeral at the Pensacola National Cemetery. She was ok and almost came to Maries's funerial in November but at the last minute changed her mind. In December she might have had a small stroke. With that info her son Donald (Bobby) took her to his home in Virginia Beach. That is where she died June 28. They transferred her to Pensacola for the burial. I have to check but I believe she is in plot 55 section 418 of the Barancos National Cemetery. I could have those numbers reversed. Same grave as husband Clarence.
    In early May Gloria and I went to see her and also got my brother, Thomas Sylvester, from his home in Disputanta, VA and we had sort of a family reunion with Gertrude. ...
