Asbury Cemetery was established in 1936. A sign at the cemetery indicates that it was formerly known as Union Cemetery. The sign doesn't say when Union Cemetery was established, but there are quite a few burials which occurred prior to the 1936 establishment of Asbury Cemetery. The initial listing for Asbury was prepared by Pauline Hembrough Goheen in 1976. The cemetery was re-read during March 2002 to pick up burials occurring since 1976. Additional names and information has been extracted from obituaries and death certificates.
