Florence Jean, 78, of Eudora, Kansas, formerly of Magnolia, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000 in St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Born Oct. 2, 1921 in Columbia County, she was the daughter of Albert Marson and Mattie Dru (Dingler) Brinkley. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Clarence Lee Jean and James Richard Hopson and a daughter, Gale Ruby.

Survivors include a son, Richard Hopson and wife Delores of Eudora; two brothers, Albert Brinkley Jr. of Waverly, Texas and James Dixon Brinkley of Finley, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Harmony Methodist Church with the Rev. Lyndell Chaffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home Inc. in charge.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Memorials may be made to American Heart Association Stroke Research.
