John Mitchell Main Page

John Mitchel/Mitchell arrived in the American colonies from Scotland about 1738, settled in Drumore Township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where he died in 1767. He possessed a land warrant from Thomas Penn for 200 acres immediately next to the Susquehanna River. He called his farm “Plainfield”. His land and house are today a part of Susquehannock State Park in Pennsylvania.
