Subject: Jefferson Ashley in Calhoun County, AL

This is an email that I posted in Aug. 1999 about Jefferson Ashley and
his wife and family who were in Calhoun County, AL.

Linda, this is the Jefferson Ashley and Millie who were in the 1880
census for Corn Grove and it was in Calhoun County, Alabama. I have
the article from the Cleburne Heritage book about this Ashley family
with the name of the submittor of the article.

There is also a mention of a Carter Ashley in that book, and for some
reason I thought that Carter Ashley was related to Nicole Pinsons
Ashley family who were in Etowah County, AL. Will have to look that
one up again on Carter Ashley.

In 1850 Paulding County, GA was a Thompsen Ashley and an Austin
Ashley family. They were thought to be related to an Edward
Ashley...These Ashleys were all from South Carolina. A researcher of
these Ashley lines is Joyce Harkins, who has several queries on the
Ashley genforum about these Ashleys. I have not corresponded with her
for at least six months or longer and don't know if she has learned
more about Jefferson Ashley and his family, who his parents were , or
where they came from in SC.

See below attachment.
