William Edward Dodd

William Edward Dodd, husband of Martha Ida "Mat" Johns, was born Oct. 21, 1869 in Johnston Co., NC and died Feb. 9, 1940 in Round Hill, VA. He was the son of Evelyn Creech and John D. Dodd. William E. Dodd was the chairman of the History Department at the University of Chicago and served as Ambassador to Germany from 1933 until 1937. Photo taken about 1920 in Chicago, IL.
