The 1900 US Federal Census shows John living with Charles & Sophonia Blackman. This is believed to to be his mother Angie Spivey's sister.
John is listed as nephew to head of household. Charles' occupation is Locomotive Eng. Likely, that is how John was
introduced to the railroad where he became an engineer himself. His younger brother great uncle "Renz" was also a railroad engineer.
Renz gave the railroad watch to his brother Marion. It was then given to Marion's Grandson. Marion Andrew Richardson lived with his
oldest daughter shortly after the death of his wife Rosa Caroline Champion in 1950.
