Dear William D. Johnson,

Upon my return, I find your querie -- re Robins.  My apologies for the delay in response.
First, may I explain "Crosswicks", a small village today.  In the 17th & 18th Century it was refered to in Deeds as land on both sides of the Crosswicks Creek, an approximate 10 mile radius from the present village in Chesterfield Township, Burlington Co. into Upper Freehold Township, Monmouth Co. which is confusing when searching.
The Robins Cemetery is ten miles distant near Clarksburg on Rt. 524.  The Tabitha you found on your visit here is different.
From a manuscript by Geo L. Robbins in 1908 "Among the emigrants from New England, who settled the Township of Woodbridge, in 1669/70 was Daniel Robins.  He is first mentioned in a patent  from Phillip Cartaret dated March 1669/70 a parcel of 173 acres, upland + meadow in and about Woodbridge" (Middlesex Co NJ by 1695 he moved to Monmouth Co. etc.)

Dear William D. Johnson,

First may I thank you in behalf of our Society for your thoughtful check of appreciation.  I shall add it to our "Singleton Fund" which the enclosed letter will explain.
Chesterfield Township Historical Soc. was incorporated 1976 as a result of the Bicentennial Celebration.  We have come a long way in 9 years, to paint, heat, electricity, sand flowers, install a powder room, in the Orthodox Quaker Meeting House on Ward Ave. inside a nice museum, of small objects, and a meeting room for members 3 times per year.  I hope on your next visit to the village of Crosswicks, you will let us show it to you.
You ask why Hannah, dt of Vanroom Robins was not included, she was not mentioned in his will, you have the proof from your records.
The Methodist Cemetery, on Ellisdale Rd, I find, Tabitha Robins, d. 9-17-1825 @ 60y 9m 15 da, wife of Jameson; and Tabitha, dt/o William & Jane, @ 15y 8mo (no date).
I doubt very much she is Tabitha (Ford) wife of Vanroom.
Did you find at the same visit, the stones in the M. E. Cemetery on Ellisdale Rd.?
     -  John Dickinson d. Oct 26-1850, aged 50[sic-should be 80, confirmed by Bible Record]y 3m 26da
     -  Hannah, widow of John Dickinson, d. Oct 21 1868 aged 75y 11mo
     -  William son of SR & EA Dickinson, Aug 20 1812 @ 7mo 18da

     -  Joseph, sone of SR & EA Dickinson Aug 25 1957, 9y 4mo
Despite a slight different spelling, possibly the same as yours.
2 Deeds -- at Mt. Holly Court House Burlington Co
          A2 --516, 9 Mar 1814 to John Dickson
417-254 gives a review which says Hannah Dickson wid of John to Mary Brown, Jan 14, 1867 U8-289
despite the spelling--appears to be the same as your Bible Record.  Their house is located the 3rd  house on E side Buttonwood St. in the Village of Crosswicks
It is by means of sharing Fam Bibles that the jig saw puzzle can be peaced together.  What you have just sent is no exception.  Ford & Idell sheets in particular.  On separate pages enclosed is a whole new ballgame, for you to pursue after your Hospital venture.
Mrs. Van Kirk at allentown Library might help you further.  I think they have done cemeteries there.
With Best Wishes and Thank again
          Sincerely

Dear William D. Johnson,

Thanks for all you are sending me--it all helps to put the puzzles closer to a complete solution.
It is always good to hear how one gets involved in genealogy research, but it would take to much time to give you my 80 years of History, except to say--back in 1920's I did a project on the Brick's, when completed I forgot about it, 1950--a large quantity of "stuff" came into my possession, from since when; by various projects, I have gotten more and more involved, to keep me busy full time, with pleasure, and satisfaction, when I have at hand, what others are looking for --
My library--of books--with Index's etc. do not belong to any one but me at this point in time, various societies refer their queries to me for a response, especially the first settlers of Chesterfield Township and its neighbors.
Thomas Ford's will proved 1791 Middlesex Co. mentions real estate -- Deeds -- will be the best place for research before 1800--at NJ State Archives, or other records or the Alexander Library -- Rutgers Univ -- New Burnswick.  They have their own collection, and the NJ Genealogical Soc. Records are also there.  When you are in Peapack, it might be worth an afternoon there.
Henry Rulon s/o David wp. 1778 m. 1757 circa Theodosia (Robins)
Thanks for the book mark -- I will put it in our museum.  If the Society is still in existance, WCTU, Womens Christian Temperance Union, I was not acquainted to its previous name.
Do you know the names of your silhouette's?  only means of a picture previous -- was a portrait in oil.
I shall look forward to meeting you and gladly take you around our -- village etc.  It is best to telephone first to be sure, no. above --
     Best Wishes
          Sincerely,
