1 Birth date is variously listed as "1600" and as "before 1605". The 1600 date is based on the transcriptions of passenger records from the Ship Planter that sailed to Massachusetts in 1635; Thomas Olney's age is recorded as 35. The "before 1605" date is based on the death of Thomas Olney in 1682 when he is said to have been 77 years old.
2 On Jun. 16, 1682, Thomas Olney's son is referenced as "Jr." indicating that his father was still alive; the inventory of Thomas Olney's estate was taken on Oct. 9, 1682.
3 According to passenger records of the Planter, Thomas Olney III was 3 years old when the ship made the voyage in 1635.
