SARAH ALLERTON
Sarah Allerton was married to Degory Priest at Leiden Holland on the same day that her brother, Isaac, married Mary Norris.  Sarah remained in Leiden with her daughters when her husband and brother embarked on the Speedwell bound for the New World.  When Degory Priest died shortly after arriving at Plymouth, Sarah remarried and the family sailed to Plymouth on the Ann in 1623.

In the May 22, 1627 Division of Cattle (at Plymouth), the second lot fell to Isaac Allerton and his company which included his sister Sarah and her husband Godbert Godbertson.  (The first lot fell to Francis Cooke.)

Sarah Allerton was twice widowed and she and her third husband both died suddenly in 1633 without leaving a will.  See transcript of their inventory which is referenced by the Plimouth Colony web site as an insight into the complete household goods of a family with a median income--a rare opportunity since so many records are for the husband alone and often after land and goods have already been given to family and friends in expectation of death.
