Birth Book pages 9 & 10 John is apparently the only son of Humphrey Jones, who died when John was 20. His sister, Betty was born the following year
John married Mary Prys, daughter of Lord of Carnarvon.
Three long-lived children resulted from their marriage.
Jno Daniel, of whom much is known, thanks to the account told in the Family Birth Book, is the eldest.
Mary, the second child, lived from 1671 to 1758.
Elizabeth was born the following year, dying two years before her elder sister.
John owned estates on the Isle of Anglesea, in Shropshire and in Cheshire. It is apparent the family's wealth was dissipated in the following generation, as a result of the hospitality and generous living of the squire.
