I've reduced all placenames to the country or state (except for some French-language names, where I haven't looked up whether they're located in France or Quebec). Two letter abbreviations refer to states of the US (earlier British colonies; "NY" can also stand for New Amsterdam). The range of dates after each name is only the earliest and latest dates of birth, marriage, death etc. associated with that surname in the lineal genealogical charts.
