Died: after 1840
Philomena's Notes:
1840 CENSUS, St. Louis, St. Louis, MO: listed as female 10 to 15 years. Living with parents and
brother.
From Mabel LATIMER: Philomena was a "Sister of Charity". She worked in a mental hospital, where
an inmate jumped from a window, landing on Sister Philomena and breaking her back. She may
have died as a result. Her prayer book and rosary were in the possession of Laura LATIMER.
Unfortunately they were lost during Hurricane Katrina.. Have been unable to find any further
information about Sister Philomena; do not know her actual birth name.
Hattie RAMSAY's notes: "Grandpa's sister was killed when one of the tenants at a Catholic Home
jumped from second floor and injured her." (name spelled Philameana)
