Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files, page 2033: Hyatt LAZEAR, R6219, VA Line, soldier was born 1744, Frederick Co, VA and he lived there at enlistment, then moved to Washington Co, PA, then to Lewis Co, VA (later became WV). He applied there for a pension on 30 Sep 1833.

Index to Revolutionary War Service Records: Name spelled Hyat LAZARE, Hyat LAZIER, Hyat LAZEAR, Hyat LAZEIR, Hyat LAZER, Hyat LAZERE, Hiat LAZOR. He served in the Seventh Virgina Regiment as a Private; also in Thirteenth Virginia Regiment. Hyatt served as a Private in the Ninth Virginia Regiment and as a Corporal in Hazen's Regiment of Continental Troops.
West Virginians in the Revolution, page 165: Hyatt was born in Frederick Co, Virginia. He enlisted in the Spring of 1776 in the Revolutionary Army under Captains Harrison, Biggs, Vance, Springer, Crockett plus Colonel Gibson and Generals Broadhead, Hand and McIntosh. "Claim for pension, filed in Lewis Co, Virginia, 3 Sep 1833, was supported by Martin Life and Jacob Schoolcraft, but was rejected. This is a particularly interesting example of the services which were not found to justify pensions."

Roster of Captain Uriah Springer, Monongalia Co, WVA: Hyatt LAZIER is listed in Pittsburg, in1781.
New York Genealogical Records: Hyatt LAZEAR lived in Ontario, CANADA, in 1784. He was a member of Butler's Rangers. (Disbanded Rangers who settled at Niagara, reported by Lieutenant Colonel A. S. De Peyster in 1784, as printed in the Report on Canadian Archives, 1819, pages 2-5: includes Hyatt LAZEAR.)

Joseph LAZZIER/LAZEAR was the original immigrant. He married Susannah WEBB in Anne Arundel Co, Maryland in 1702 and moved to Prince George's County by 1721. Their sons were John, Joseph, and Thomas. One of these may be the father of our Hyatt.
