From Gone Home, by Eileen DERR: William and his wife were born in Northern Ireland. After arriving in the United States, they migrated to Holt Co, Missouri. They pre-empted 160 Acres of land in Forbes Twp (Sections 3 and 4) near the Missouri River. William's wife died in 1842, shortly after they came to Holt County, and William died in the fall of 1844. They were buried on their own land, but later floods have destroyed the burial site.
