Baby Brother Gene

We Build...We Fight...Seabees Can...Do

Photo of Gene at Khafghi, near the Kuwait border.
This is Gene all grown up and serving in Desert Storm. Needless to say, when President Bush announced the liberation of Kuwait had begun, we were very upset. (It was one of those times in your life when you never forget where you were, or what you were doing.) Gene was stationed in Saudi Arabia, just a few miles from the Kuwait border.

A few years ago, Gene retired from the US Navy, having spent nearly 30 years as a Sea Bee. Recently, after the death of his wife, Joannie, he came home to North Carolina with two of his three daughters in tow.

Welcome home baby brother.
