The Burgess line contained in the Williams ancestry descends from the convicts Richard Burgess and Johannah Saunders. More to come...
There is also some confusion with the Burgess families in northern Tasmania as there are several unrelated Burgess lines who lived in the same areas and had similar family naming patterns. In particular our line is not related to the George Burgess/Ann Haines line that is documented in a lot of places online. I've noticed some websites have incorrectly mixed these lines.
