DUNCANVILLE DOTS.
_______
The Yield in Cereals--Cotton
Looks Promising.
Special to the Times-Herald.
DUNCANVILLE, Tex., July 24.--Threshing is about over in
this section. Wheat and oats have turned out fairly well. Fifteen
bushels to the acre for wheat and thirty-five bushels for oats
is somewhere near the general average. Corn will be first rate
in this immediate neighborhood, but we understand in the greater
portion of the county south and east of here, corn has suffered
for rain and will not make more than half a crop. Cotton looks
well and unless "Mr. Boll Worm" steps in to prevent,
it will make a large yield.
Prof. B. F. Moore, principal of
the Duncanville school will leave this week on a short visit
to his old home in Alabama.
Mrs. S. H. Finley, who has been
very low and not expected to live for several weeks, is reported
convalescent.
