     M. E. Williams filed divorce proceedings, wanting the marriage vows between her and James Williams dissolved. She alleges he came to her one afternoon in January last, drunk, and beat and whipped her unmercifully, for which he is now serving out a term of punishment.

     Clinton W. Pierce, residence unknown. Petition by Isabella C. Pierce, filed April 3rd, 1888, Dallas county, against Clinton W. Pierce, alleges that marriage of the two in Arkansas, about October 1872, abandonment by defendant in November 1884....plaintiff has real estate and property in Texas and other states...her former name: Shumard....seeking restoration of same.

The Courts.

     Mrs. Lena M. Brown to-day filed divorce proceedings against Irwin D. Brown, setting forth their marriage in March 1878, in Syracuse, N.Y. Petitioner alleges cruel treatment and outrageous conduct, such as renders their living together insupportable. Seeks an injunction restraining the defendant from disposing of community property.

An Aged Couple.

     Justice Braswell was called yesterday afternoon to officiate in uniting the ties of connubial bliss between Mr. A. J. Garner and Miss Sarah Henderson. The groom is 75, and bride, 65 years old.

Suits Filed.

     Nannie W. Gray wants a divorce from James S. Gray on the grounds of abandonment. She prays that she be invested with the title in fee simple to certain lands purchased with her own separate funds, costs of suit and general and special relief.

     The divorce suit of Mrs. Lena M. Brown vs. Erwin D. Brown was the first case called....postponed on hearing of application for alimony.

     Judge heard the argument for alimony, custody of minor children, etc.....Lena M. Brown vs. Irwin D. Brown...awarded sum of $18 per month and custody of their two minor children.

     The following divorce proceedings were filed in district court to-day:
     Belle Johnson vs. Morgan Johnson, alleging cruel and inhuman treatment.
     Lucy Flint vs. Phil Flint, alleging abandonment.
     Mollie Murry vs. Frank Murry, alleging cruel treatment and adultery.
     All the parties are colored.

Divorce Suit.

     Mrs. Rosa M. White filed divorce to-day against Enoch A. White, alleging abandonment and cruel treatment. Married June 1881, and separated October 1887, three children being the issue of marriage. She prays to be placed in the custody of the children and the community property...

     Lizzie Griswell has sued S. L. Griswell for a divorce. They were married in Eastland in 1885, and defendant has since deserted petitioner.

A Divorce Suit.

    Loula Hailey filed divorce proceedings in district court against J. S. Hailey. According to plaintiff, allegations they were married December 21, 1883, and separated about two weeks ago. She alleges cruel treatment in general and specifies certain outrageous acts of defendant toward plaintiff. She asks for alimony of $6 per week, and for immediate and final custody of their child.

Another Divorce Suit.

     S. N. Baldwin filed divorce proceedings to-day against John Baldwin. She alleges that they were married June 28, 1888, in Dallas county and lived together until August 17, 1888. She charges that after cruelly beating and outrageously abusing her, defendant smashed up their household wares and left.....

Charged With Adultery and Bigamy.

     Lucia Matilla Holligan files suit for divorce from Geo. F. Holligan on the allegations of drunkenness, adultery, abandonment and bigamy. They were married in August, 1886, and separated in November following. One child, a girl, was the fruit of the marriage and she prays for its custody.

A Parker County Man Complains That a Dallas Man
Has More Than His Legal Quota of Wives.

     ...sheriff arrested Walter D. Cameron on a complaint by J. P. Williams, of Parker county, charging him with bigamy....that August Cameron married Mrs. D. Mueller, August 2, [1888?] ....Cameron married his second wife in Dallas under the name of Campbell. He has been employed at the planing mill in this city.

     In district court to-day, in the divorce suit of Haley vs. Haley, the plaintiff was granted an alimony in the sum of $18 a month.

     Maud Walker filed divorce proceedings and motion for alimony against Lawrence H. Walker. Cruel treatment and excesses are the alleged grounds. The parties were married in Dallas last June and separated last September.

DISTRICT COURT NEWS.

     Mrs. F. B. Spellman filed suit to-day for divorce from John Spellman; she also asks for an injunction to hold her property, which she alleges was a gift from her father, and asks for the custody of their twelve-year-old son. The peitition sets forth that they were married in 1875, and that their married life has been one round of continued neglect and cruel treatment upon the part of defendant towards plaintiff.

     Mr. W. H. Rawlins, the well-known and liked money order clerk in the Dallas postoffice, last evening married Miss Lula R. Martin of Fort Worth. Rev. Dr. Tinnon of the Fort officiated. The young couple departed on the next train to Dallas, and here they will make their home.

     Lizzie Handsome, colored, was arrested yesterday on a warrant from Fort Worth, charging her with adultery. She and her husband were "high flyers" in colored circles in this city, among whom her arrest created considerable talk.

     Mr. Jno. W. Bennett of Limestone county and Miss Anne B. Harrington, eldest daughter of Judge Jno. A. Harrington, were married last evening at the residence of the bride's father in South Dallas. They left immediately on the Central south bound train for their future home.
