Headquarters for the 15th Radio Squadron, Mobile United States Security Service was located at Ashiya, Japan, with detachments in Korea and Okinawa. The 15th RSM, was under the command of Colonel Lamar William Hardy, a 1943 West Point graduate, and former B-17 pilot in the Pacific during WWII. Its primary mission was signal intelligence in support of combat air operations in Korea by providing tactical control for aircraft of the Far East Air Force Command during the Korean War. |
