This page is for those of us who feel we have researched every means available in looking for an ancestor, but to no avail. If you have information on anybody listed here, please email me or the researcher indicated by each item. Thanks in advance for any help we get in finding some of these people. I will put your ancestors on this page if you have exhausted all other means of finding out anything about them. If you receive help in your search due to your post on this page, please email me and let me know the results!
This photo, dated 5 Nov 1918, is of my grandfather, Charles E. Blais (sitting) in his Merchant Marine uniform during World War I. We are trying to discover the identity of the person who is standing.
Jean-Baptiste Blais and Brigitte Cloutier Jean-Baptiste Blais was born around 1810-1820. He came to the United States through Maine at an unknown time, but was listed in Waterville, Kennebuc County, Maine in an 1850 census. His occupation was listed variously as laborer or driller. After coming to the United States, he apparently anglicized his name to John Blair. His first marriage was to Sarah Lacombe (also unknown parents) around 1846. His second marriage was to Brigitte Cloutier on 30 Dec 1854 in Waterville, Kennebuc County, Maine. Many of his children's births are listed in the baptism and marriages of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Fall River, Massachusetts, and these records indicate that Jean and Brigitte were also in Fall River at those times. NEW INFORMATION states that Jean died in 1883 in Fall River, with parents by the name of Jean-Baptiste Blais and Marguerite ?, if this information is correct. Brigitte's name is seen recorded as Bridget Carrie, Carrier, Carey and even Lucy Clukey.
Marie Mailhot m. Alexis Chartier
We have had several researchers attempt to find some kind of records on the parents of Marie Mailhot (alternatively spelled Maillot, Millette, Maille), but none has been successful. Marie's husband, Alexis Chartier, was born in 1828, and we have seven children listed for this couple.
Marguerite Roy m. Jean Blais We have really no information on Marguerite Roy other than the fact that she was married to Jean Blais, son of Joseph Blais and Marie Elisabeth Michon, on 23 Nov 1807 in St. Henri, Levis, Quebec. Marguerite was Jean Blais's first wife. Jean married his second wife, Marguerite Halle, on 31 May, 1813 in Luzon.

Would you have seen information on them by chance and know whom I can contact? I'm looking for their ship immigrant records that will hopefull lead me to their parents in France.
[email protected] Always looking for a French connection to Lafayette Eager/Agar. Born in VT (?) ca 1823, he was in Ontario by 1842. In later census he says he was French and his religion Moravian. I've tried many variations of the spelling but can't seem to find him anywhere before 1842. Perhaps someone visiting this site can help.

Plattsburg, N.Y. and met an elderly lady in her 80s who was a
