989. Homer James MARSHALL was born on 3 April 1925 in Crawford County, Arkansas. He died on 11 July 2010 at the age of 85.

World War II Enlistment, 14 Oct 1943, at Little Rock, AR, as a Private. He had 3 years of high school and had done general farm work. He was single.

Homer J. Marshall, 85, of Uniontown died July 11, 2010, at Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith. He was born to Tom and Ruth (Comstock) Marshall, now deceased, of Uniontown. He attended Uniontown schools. He was an avid hunter and an excellent marksman. He trained bird dogs and crafted beautiful woodworks. He raised a garden of many kinds of vegetables, which he freely shared. He was a former deputy sheriff of Crawford County and a member since age 15 of Uniontown Christian Church. Black Angus cattle roamed his ranch in Uniontown, where he bailed hay, brush-hogged and enjoyed many happy hours.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Maud Marie (Rainwater) Marshall; two daughters, Jan Marshall and Sherry Marshall Harford, both of Uniontown; two granddaughters, Traci Kannett of Van Buren and Tai Pulis of Alma; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan, Madison and Maya Pulis, all of Alma, and Grace Taylor Kannett of Van Buren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Almeda Russell of Van Buren and Marjorie Hilbert of Oklahoma City; and one brother, Ralph Marshall of Albuquerque, N.M. He is survived by one brother, Bill Marshall of Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5-8 p.m. at Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Christian Church in Uniontown with burial in Uniontown Cemetery under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be J.B. Smith, Flint Pulis, Keith Kannett, Douglas Ronald Hilbert, Dr. Scott Harford and J. Rainwater. Honorary pallbearers will be children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
