1146. William Edward "Ned" HADEN was born on 18 September 1831.^10,246 He died on 14 February 1888 at the age of 56.

Wm. E. Haden, son of Col. Wm D. Haden of Palmyra, Fluvanna Co, was enrolled at Randolph-Macon College. He was age 19.

Family letters state that Ned was a Surveyor and did not enter service during the Civil War. He did serve in the Virginia Legislature.

Descendants give both William & his wife the same date of death as 14 Feb 1888. This is a bit curious. And a better date for Mary's death is found on FamilySearch, 21 Dec 1883, in the Virginia Deaths & Burials. ;Son Walter claims a stepmother in 1900 and 1910. Did Mary die first and William marry a second time? Apparently he did.

William Edward "Ned" HADEN and Mary Fletcher NOEL were married on 10 July 1854 in Fluvanna County, Virginia.¹⁰ Mary Fletcher NOEL, daughter of Richard NOEL and Sallie R. HADEN, was born about 1833 in Virginia.⁵³³ She died on 21 December 1883 at the age of 50.¹⁰

Alternate date of marriage - 11 Jun 1854 - could be bond date.
