Dandridge married Martha H. Freeman, 21 Jan 1826, Surry Co NC. After she died, he moved to Arkansas with his eight children; he married Julia McDonald, 6 Dec 183, Lawrence Co AR. He married (3) Prudence Pevehouse, 12 Feb 1846.

Amittie married Absalom Matthews, 30 Sep 1830, Surry Co NC. They are both buried at the Prospect Methodist Church Cemetery near Smithtown, Yadkin Co NC.

Several descendants of this family made application for the Cherokee rolls in order to take part in the tribal monies; they were all rejected.

Sarah S. [Susanna] Blakley and her children made application 26 Aug 1896. Her parents were Amittie and Absalom. She was the wife of Geo W. Blakley. Her application is faded and the names of her children are not readable. The Poindexter book, p.438-9 gives enough information that I found her in 1900, but she was enumerated as "Mary" Blakley. [She lived until 1914]

Thomas F. Matthews, applied 25 Aug 1896. He was a son of Absalom & "Amittar" Matthews who was a daughter of William Pledge Poindexter. He had the following children: Wm. A. Matthews, married; Francis M.; Martha C. Taylor who married Andrew Taylor; James A., married; Robert L., unmarried; Thomas H. D., married; and Wesley M., unmarried. I found his entire family in 1900.

Virginia Starling of Shoals applied 25 Aug 1896. She was a daughter of William A. Poindexter, son of William. She signed with her mark. She also applied for her daughters: Callie J. who married John W. Douglas, Mary F. who married James Ellis Douglas, and Florence E. Starling.

I was unable to find her in 1900, although the Poindexter book says they lived and died in Surry Co NC.
