110. John Jackson WALTERS71,191 was born (date unknown).

John was deceased before May of 1827 leaving sons Joseph, Robert & George.
The Walters book gives his name as John Jackson Walters. He married Mary "Polly" Cleveland, daughter of John and Mary McCann Cleveland. John died 1 Apr 1815 and his widow married (2) Henry H. Davis on 21 Feb 1819.

In 1806, John J. Walters lived in Pendleton District SC and purchased land in Franklin Co. He was a Captain in the 214th District, 4th Regt, of Georgia Militia in Franklin Co 20 Nov 1812. The Inventory of his estate was taken 22 Aug and the sale on 15 Oct of 1815. Joseph Walters [his brother] and Polly Davis [his widow] were administrators.

Joseph was appointed guardian of the children of his deceased brother John at the September Term of Court, Franklin Co, 1824. The children were George, Joseph and Robert. He was also guardian of Larkin Walters, relationship not stated in Walters book but other places it's is indicated that Larkin was the eldest son; perhaps he was over 14 in 1824 or there are earlier guardianship records.

On 2 Jul 1827, Joseph & Robert Walters orphans of John Walters, chose Larkin Cawthon to be their guardian. He was also ordered to guardian of George [who was not yet 14.]

The eldest son Larkin, b. 1802, and d. 1885 in Randolph Co AL. He married Rutha Payne, daughter of Cleveland & Elizabeth Payne. Her father died and her mother remarried to Kenneth W. McKenzie and he was guardian of Rutha Payne, ca 1808.

29 Sep 1825 Franklin Co GA. Kenneth McKenzie & wife Elizabeth of Pendleton Dist SC and Larkin Walters & wife Rutha of Franklin Co GA sold to George Thomason of Franklin Co 158 acres on Middle Fork of Broad River where Thomason was living, part of tract belonging to Cleveland Payne dec'd, taken out of a 700 acres tract granted Thomas Payne dec'd. Wit: Robert Cleveland, Samuel Tate, William Cawthon, JP. The wives relinquished dower.

John Jackson WALTERS and Mary "Polly" CLEVELAND were married. Mary "Polly" CLEVELAND, daughter of John CLEVELAND and Martha "Molly" MCCANN, was born in 1780 in Cleveland's Ferry, South Carolina.
