The Grave Alexander Duncan of Seaside, and Lundie b.1652 - d.1696 (grandfather of Viscount Adam Duncan of Lundie) Provost of Dundee 1681 - 1685, married Anne Drummond of Meggins in 1673 both are interned in the Howff of Dundee cemetery he was the first Duncan to be recorded in the Lyon Court of Scotland public Register of 1672. (in latin) interred here are Alex Duncan of Lundie 4.1696 44, w Ann (only da of Mr John Drummond of Megginch) 4.1695 42, also chn Wm, Patk, Christian & Ann whom their parents survived, another Wm who survived his mo but not his fa, & 2s John 7.1696 20. by Mr Alex Duncan of Lundie in 1718. (Note: in 1689 bailie Duncan was sent by the council as a deputation to London to present the grievances of the town to the King; Mr Alex Duncan the erector md in 1724 Helen da of the late Haldane of Gleneagles by whom he had admiral lord viscount Duncan & he was also provost of Dundee 1744-5)."
