1. LELAND⁴ KESTELL (JULIUS³, JOHN GEORGE², JOHANN BAPTIST¹ KASTEL) was born April 17, 1925 in Elkhart Lake, WI, and died September 24, 1964 in Indio, CA. He married BETTY R. KERTZ February 26, 1949 in St. George Catholic, Elkhart Lake, WI, daughter of JAKE KERTZ and RUTH ARPKE.

Notes for LELAND KESTELL:
Leland Kestell was killed in an auto accident near his home in Indio, CA. He was 39 years old. It is believed that Leland Kestell was on his way home from Termo, CA where he was employed. He was alone in the car and was reported instantly killed. The last three years he had been employed in the aeronautics division of a firm at Termo.

After serving several years in the Seabees, he worked for the Lauer Paint Co. He then attended an aeronautics school in Madison and worked for three years for an air line in Green Bay. He worked at Denver, Co., and Walla Walla, WA. before going to California.

Leland is buried on St. George's Cemetery in the town of Rhine, Sheboygan Co., WI,

Betty Kestell was a nurse at JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, CA. for 27 years, retiring in 1994.

Betty was buried from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Indio, CA and was buried at Coachella Valley Cemetery.
