BIOGRAPHY: Son of Abel Greenwich of St. Catherines near the tower of London. Sailed from Lond on for Barbdos on 2nd May 1635 on the vessel "Alexander, owned by Mr. Gilbert Grimes, under C aptain Burche. He was 21 years old at the time.

     Abel Aleyne owned Turner's Hall, Barbados and Squerries Court, Kent, England. He was colonel of the Holetown Regiment and member of the Assembly for St. Andrew, Barbados

On his marriage to Elizabeth Booth in 1713 Abel Alleyne purchased from Dame Rosamond Booth, widow of Sir William Booth and mother of Elizabeth, three plantations in St. James, St. Peter and St. Andrew containing together 495 acres of land with 2 dwelling houses, 2 stone windmills, 2 boiling houses and a large number of slaves, cattle and sheep for 11,000 Pounds. He settled these plantations on his wife to secure to her a jointure of 400 Pounds per annum if he predeceased her.
