Toledo Blade Article published Tuesday, February 24, 2004 LYONS, Ohio � A gunman fled with an undisclosed amount of money yesterday from the State Bank and Trust Co. after he ordered two customers and three tellers onto the floor, authorities said. The assailant entered the bank lobby on East Morenci Street at 2:08 p.m. yesterday and after threatening everybody robbed the tellers, placing cash in a bag he brought with him, the FBI reported. He fled out a rear door. Later, a tracking dog from the Fulton County sheriff�s department traced the suspect�s path to a church parking lot near the bank where the robber apparently entered a vehicle. The suspect, who had a scarf partially covering his face, was described as white, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, stocky build, and wearing a gray sweatshirt and dark pants. &&&&&&&& Toledo Blade Tuesday March 9, 2004 Section B pg. 2 Column 6 Lyons, Ohio -- A Fayette man has been charged with the Feb. 23 holdup of the State Band and Trust Co., the FBI & Fulton County Sheriff's deputies said. Jesse Albert Perez, Jr., 30, was arrested Friday on an outstanding traffic warrant and questioned about the holdup after authorities received a Crime Stopper tip. During the robbery, a gunman ordered several customers and bank tellers onto the floor while placing money in a bag, then fleeing.
