Details: This provides some details about the St. Andrews Immigration Society gleaned from sources held by Archives Tasmania.

Amongst other achievements, the St. Andrews Immigraton Society sponsored the assisted migration of '264 Scotch immigrants' on board the ship 'Broomielaw' which arrived in Launceston, Tasmania on 1st April 1857.

On board the 'Broomielaw', were Lachlan McInnes, Mary McInnes (nee Brown) and their young baby Mary McInnes, who was born at sea, on 25 March 1857, just before the ship arrived in port.
