Dear Kay, I have been researching through your sites - you have a lot of info! thank you! I am looking for James Gossett, born 01-18-1840, according to his tombstone. He is buried here in Graves County, KY, and died in 1909 I believe. His gravestone says J.W.L. Gossett, and I have found his land on a map at the library, saying he came here from Hickman Co., TN. I have also received a copy of his enlistment in the Civil War from the National Archives. I have been to Centerville, but have yet to find his parents or family. I wonder if he is the James, age 10, listed in the 1850 census, son of Elinor Gossett. Although this shows J.W.P. age 21 still in the household. Any clues you can give me will be appreciated. J.W.L. married Cynthia E. Carter, you show her in your Kentucky Death Records. That is definitely our James Gossett's wife, that date is on their joint tombstone. You also show "Ewell and Jewell"; they are one and the same - Jewell C. Gossett was born Feb. 29, 1904, and died July 18, 1976. he is my husband's father. Jewell's father is Callis Newton Gossett, and his father, James W. L. Gossett. All three are buried in North Mt. Zion Cemetary in Graves County, Kentucky. Thanks again! Marilyn Gossett
