George started out as a shoemaker like his father, but later got
a job with
the railroad and apparently did well as they moved to London and
lived in a
fairly posh neighbourhood. All the children appeared to be
well educated
and seemed to marry well, including my grandfather William.
George was
killed in a railway accident in 1884. Lucy lived to be 85.
